5 SECRETS FOR LUSCIOUS LASHES

It’s no secret that eyes are windows to the soul. Dress your beautiful eyes with makeup and play up your lashes to enhance your features. Here are 5 secrets for luscious lashes to complete your look.

 

Most Asians have short sparse lashes. To achieve long luscious lashes, One need not go for expensive eyelash extensions. Beauty products to the rescue !

#1 CURL YOUR LASHES

After your eye makeup, always curl your lashes. Place the curler just above your lash line, grip your lashes and curl them in 3 parts - inner, centre and outer. You will noticed that your lashes are lifted in a nice natural curve. Popular Eyelash curlers suitable for Asian eyes include Shu Uemura, Sana Excel Power Style 39mm Eyelash Curler and Shiseido/Maquillage.

#2 USE AN EYELASH PRIMER

#3 COAT YOUR LASHES WITH MASCARA

Choose your mascara according to the effect you would like to create – Volumizing, Lengthening, Curling or all of it. Apply the mascara in 3 parts – inner, central and outer lashes with a zigzag motion to increase lash separation for clump free lashes and wide eye flattering 3D look. 2 thin coats for a natural look or pile it up for dramatic eyes.

Always work on one eye first and then the other eye so that your mascara is completely dry before your 2nd coat. For lower lashes, apply light feather strokes vertically. Popby L'Oreal Private Sale at Concorde Hotel yesterday. My main reason for going is that Yves Saint Laurent is available although i had purchased loads of back ups as i adore the elegant gold packaging. I  usually purchase Lancôme, Biotherm or Kiehl’s while travelling or at the departmental store counters as the items i love are the Best Sellers which you can never find during sale.

There were great bargains at Lancôme Beauty where Rouge Absolu, Color Fever gloss, Juicy Tubes are only S$20 each, Limited Edition Spring 2010 Lancome O My Rose blushers at $25, Eye shadows Mono, Duo and Quad from $10 to $35, foundation at $35, Mascaras at S$30 and even last autumn Declaring Indigo Nail Lacquer in Golden Audacity at S$10  which were so tempting but my friend reminded me of my Paul & Joe, Givenchy, Kose, Cle de Peau Beaute , Maquillage and Majolica Majorca Hauls in the past few months.

As usual, YSL was the first brand you would see when you enter the function room. There were plenty of lipsticks, golden gloss, Touché brilliant gloss, nail lacquers, eyeshadows, mascaras, eyeliners, powder foundation with prices from S$20 to S$35, which were so such a steal as a quad is already S$83 usually but my friend reminded me of my drawers of unused YSL backups. Most of my YSL eyeshadows are neutrals so i purchased YSL quad in Absinthe Green.

Mini purchase from L’Oreal Private Sale:-

Only at Shu Uemura i saw 3 best sellers – Cleansing Oil (Original), UV Under Base Mousse and Limited Edition Fake Eyelashes. There were a good mix of eyeshadows, gel liners, drawing pencils, lipstick, lipgloss and selected foundation, powders and skincare from S$14 to S$90. I purchased UV Under Base and last autumn Limited Edition Primaltribe Collection Painting Gel Liner in Turquoise X 2 as back ups as its fabulous. I was also tempted by Citrine and Spinel which was a bright yellow and hot pink to complete the Primaltribe  Gel liner collection but i would probably reach for it least or not at all.

KÉRATASE OLÉO-RELAX SLIM MASQUE, REFLECT CHROMA MASQUE AND FLUIDE CHROMA RICHE HAIR CARE

Purchased 10 sample size Kérastase which were going at S$20. At S$2 a sample, its really value for money. I didn't stock up on this as i still have the complete range of full size products but this would be great for travelling.

MAJOLICA MAJORCA MINI-HAUL AT SHISEIDO PRIVATE SALE ~ PART 1

I purchased Majolica Majorca Midnight Dresser Limited Edition Christmas Collection at the Shiseido Staff, Friends and Family Sale. It was an absolute bargain as its going for $15 for 3. The retail price for the Midnight Dresser was S$30.50 ! Glad i resisted than and only purchased it now.

I also purchased Majolica Majorca Majolook Luminoustic Eyeshadow Palettes RS354 and BR355 which is also a steal at 3 for $15.

MAJOLICA MAJORCA ARTISTIC NAIL POLISH ~ CHAPTER 23 INNOCENT PLEASURES SUMMER 2009 JEWELING LINE & GLOW & QUICK

As part of Shiseido Singapore 40th Birthday Bash Goodie Bag, i received a set of Majolica Majorca (MJ) Chapter 23 Innocent Pleasures Summer 2009 Artistic Nails. I only purchased Paul & Joe Beaute Nail Lacquer  & OPI but usually i have my manicure & pedicure done by Magic Nails at PureColor Studio, hence i dont really try alot of nail colours from other brands, though i should be reviewing more nail lacquers !

I did purchase a gorgeous blue Coffret D’Or nail varnish but i have not get round to using it yet. My new MJ colours look so bright and cheery that i want to do a mini-review.

Majolica Majorca Artistic Nails ~ Glow & Quick in YE242, GR140, PK 441, S$7.10 each

I painted 2 coats without any base or top coat and the colours showed up shiny and vibrantly. It took like a minute or two to dry. My favourite is PK441. I like the fun pop colours which are great for summer !

The brush for the Jeweling line is super thin compared to Glow & Quick as it works as a nail liner and promises to dry in 45 seconds. Again no base or top coats and 2 coats to show the glittery shades. I didnt time but the it did dry faster than Glow & Quick as its more fluid. Would try the super sheer glitter polish for nail art next time.
