Singapore Holiday 2022 | 2023 Popular Instagram Festive experiences

Pokémon, Doraemon, Minions and Avatar are transiting in Singapore and are shining literally this holiday season till Christmas, New Year and Spring 2023.

Capture your best Instagram moments with your favourite movie characters at The Jewel Changi Airport, Terminal 3 Changi International Airport, Resorts World Sentosa, Gardens by the Bay, The Promontory @ Marina Bay and The National Museum of Singapore.

1. Pokémon Pikachu Night Show at The Promontory@Marina Bay and Pokémon GO Safari Zone event at Gardens by the Bay

Pokémon Air Adventures campaign with Pikachu Night Show at The Promontory@Marina Bay is a spectacular drone light display using 500 drones, illuminated the Marina Bay night skyline with different Pokémon Characters, along with aeroplanes and special light structures is the first show outside of Japan and celebration of Pokémon GO’s sixth anniversary.


Pokémon GO Safari Zone event at Gardens by the Bay runs in tandem with the special Pikachu Weekend from 18 to 20 November 2022, as part of the Pokémon Air Adventures campaign.

Pokémon GO players experienced a fun weekend of Pokémon Air Adventures gameplay, with ticket holders encountering Pokémon characters themed around Pokémon Air Adventures like Flying Pikachu and Lapras. The Central and South American region-specific Pokémon, Maractus and new debut Shiny Purrloin graced the gameplay.

Players who were unable to get tickets joined Mega Raids featuring the Mega Latias and Mega Latios and Team GO Rocket appeared more frequently in balloons with Pokémon Air Adventures stickers.

2. A Minion's Perspective Experience, Resorts World Sentosa Singapore

Following the successful tours in Seoul, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Jeju Island and Taipei, Singapore is the first city in Southeast Asia to host A Minion’s Perspective Experience at Resorts World Sentosa, based on the world’s most successful animated film franchise, Illumination’s Despicable Me and Minions and the new Minions 2, The rise of Gru.


Wander in A Minion’s Perspective Experience across eight thematic zones with various Minions and life-sized characters in thematic environments Gru's lab, The Girl’s Room and Minions Zone from Despicable Me and Minions movies, play interactive games like learn to dance like Balthazar Bratt and take Instagrammable shots with the Minions.

Almost 100 exclusive Minions merchandise items are available for purchase, offered only at A Minion’s Perspective Experience, complete with popcorn and drinks set at the Minion retail zone.

3. Doraemon Exhibition at The National Museum of Singapore 

The Doraemon Exhibition made its debut outside of Japan at the National Museum of Singapore, featuring the past, present and the future of Doraemon.

Immerse in the world of Japanese manga, relish the showcase of original drawings and sketches by its creator, the late Mr Fujiko F Fujio and wander through the contemporary art show.

Chill out at the Doraemon-themed cafe in collaboration with Toraya, an esteemed wagashi (traditional Japanese confections) maker with a history of close to 500 years, browse and purchase limited-edition Doraemon X Fujiko F Fujio Museum merchandise and savour Singapore - exclusive Dorayaki set inspired by the character’s favourite snack and other Japan snacks.

4. Avatar at The Jewel, Changi Airport

HSBC Rain Vortex showcase - Avatar: The Way of Water

An exclusive Light & Sound show featuring a concoction of monumental choreography, music and rhythmic lights, spend magic moments to marvel at the mystical water display of the 40-metre-tall indoor waterfall, visible from staggering spots around Jewel.

5. Avatar: The Experience, Gardens By The Bay Singapore

Avatar : The Experience is set within the splendacious Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay, creating an illuminating immersive walkthrough of Pandora mystical wonders of flora, fauna, creatures and culture of indigenous people, the Na'vi, complete with an animatronic banshee and new marine creature, the Ilu and  awe-inspiring interactives in the spiraling walkways of the enchanting architectural glass greenhouse.

SAUDIA Seoul to Riyadh Inaugural Flight 2022 Launch

Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA), the award winning national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia officially launched Seoul to Riyadh flight, its first direct route from the capital of South Korea, flying thrice weekly.

SAUDIA’s SV899 uses Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a two-class aircraft with 24 flat beds in business class and 274 seats in guest class on its inaugural flight departed Seoul’s Incheon International Airport (ICN) on 16 August 2022 at 9:40 PM, arriving at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh (RUH) early Wednesday morning before stopping by in Jeddah (JED).


The new JED-RUH-ICN flight route is inline with the Saudi Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect the Kingdom to the world with more than 250 destinations, across four continents, including all 28 domestic airports in Saudi Arabia and improving the carrier’s competitive position internationally with its young fleet of aircrafts.

"As the Wings of Vision 2030, the national carrier has the necessary capacity to continually broaden its route network and welcome a wide range of visitors into Saudi Arabia.” said Engr. Ahmed Alwassiah, Chief Operating Officer of SAUDIA. “To support our strategic objectives, we ensure our airline’s 144-aircraft fleet is suited with the latest in-flight innovations and plan to modernize and expansion.


The milestone Seoul-Riyadh flight follows SAUDIA flight SV898 from Riyadh to Seoul with the traditional water salute at Incheon International Airport and attended by His Excellency Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Sami AlSadhan, His Excellency Park Joon Yong, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Saudi Arabia,  senior government officials, dignitaries, diplomats and members of the media, partners from the domestic travel and tourism sectors.
