HEALTHTRENDS WELLNESS CLINIC - MOSAIC eCO2 FRACTIONAL LASER AESTHETIC TREATMENT ACNE SCARS REVIEW

I was invited by HealthTrends - a Medical, Aesthetics and Wellness group to review the premium Mosaic eCO2 Fractional laser at HealthTrends Wellness Clinic located in the heart of Orchard Road at Ngee Ann City.

Upon arrival at HealthTrends, Kathy the clinical assistant greeted me with a friendly smile and served me a cup of hot tea before handing me a questionaire to fill up on my health, lifestyle habits and skin care concerns.

 

Next, i was advised to cleanse my face with the mild cleanser provided so that the Doctor could see my skin condition clearly during the skin consultation that follows.

Living in hot and humid Sunny Singapore, I had always been concerned about acne scars, pore sizes, sun spots, wrinkles and uneven skin texture. 

As it was my first time trying out an intensive laser i was concerned about the redness i would experience, downtime, pain and effectiveness.

Dr Ram is an experienced Doctor who specialize in aesthetic medicine and includes minimally invasive facial rejuvenation – treatment of pigments, pores and acne scar remodeling and resurfacing, laser treatments, Botox® and dermal fillers. MOSIAC eCO2 FRACTIONAL LASER

THE PROCESS

A topical numbing cream is applied for at least 30mins  before the eCO2 Laser which takes about 20 minutes to complete.

• Each eCO2 laser pulses are deposited in a random fashion to decrease thermal damage and reducing pain
• Warm to hot sensation, with minimal discomfort and pain.
• Depending on your skin, you may experience redness for 3 to 4 days.
• Gradual thin crust will form over treated areas
• Apply generous amount of moisturizers and sunblock to keep skin hydrated
• Total recovery can take up 2 weeks depending on individuals

PRECAUTIONS

Avoid the sun and use of photo-senstitive agents like Triluma and Retin-A Products for at least a week after treatment and oral isotretinoin medication for 3 months.

As the skin on our forehead is very thin, its best to avoid intensive laser treatments. Dr Ram commented that my acne scars were not that significant and when he work on my cheeks, nose and chin areas using eCO2 laser, it will result in smoother, fairer and radiant skin with smaller pores. Absolutely BRILLIANT !

After the skin consultation, Rochelle the clinical nurse ushered me to a private room before applying numbing cream evenly on my face for 15mins. She applied a second layer of numbing cream to ensure that my face will be numb so that i would feel less discomfort during the laser treatment. After about 35 minutes, i had to wash off the numbing cream. Upon contact with water, i felt a stinging sensation on my skin hence i wiped off the numbing cream with facial tissue before using the mild cleanser to cleanse my face thoroughly as the laser treatment can only be done on absolutely clean skin. The other discomfort was my whole mouth felt very numb.

I was ushered to the eCO2 laser treatment room. Rochelle adjusted the bed and wrapped a fleece blanket to keep me warm. Dr Ram noticed my cheeks were slightly red and advised that as a precaution and it was my first time trying eCO2 laser, he would use low intensity laser pulses to treat my face. I have to wear a special goggles to protect my eyes from the bright laser beams. After the laser treatment, Rochelle applied an antiseptic cream on my face. Dr Ram explained that after the treatment, all pores are opened so the application of an antiseptic cream will act as a barrier to prevent bacteria on my skin.

 

eCO2 FRACTIONAL LASER REVIEW

I was kind of afraid that it would be very painful but it wasn’t at all ! It felt like a very light pinch each time the laser pulses were dispersed and after the treatment, my cheeks were slightly red. There was almost no down time after my eCO2 laser, only slight redness on my cheeks. On the 2nd day, some very fine tiny brown spots appeared on the areas that were lasered – coral brown cheeks akin to post-beach holiday look. I could see the whiteheads on my nose and cheeks being pushed naturally from the inside of my skin to the outside from Day 3 ! Natural exfoliation !

 

On the 5th day, some of the tiny brown spots (scabs) and whiteheads came off while i was using my Sana Soft Peel Lotion. YIPEE !

By the 7th day, i noticed significant improvements - a couple of light scars were lightened, BRIGHTER LUMINOUS SKIN tone with REDUCED pore sizes on my nose and cheeks!  Gosh, this is so amazing! Its something that topical creams can not achieve – It’s like giving my skin a new breath of life! I LOVE eCO2 Fractional Laser ! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT !

FACIAL REMODELLING ~ Z MEDICAL AESTHETICS AT PARAGON

I was invited to a Facial Remodelling Workshop jointly organized by anti aging website, ReviewAntiAging.com with Z Medical Aesthetics at Paragon. I am very excited to find out more about Aesthetic, Botox® and fillers as its  highly popular and a rising trend in today’s society.

Dr Z, the cute aesthetic doctor gave an introduction on Facial Remodelling and other medical aesthetics treatments. Dr Z’s wife is a dermatologist based in Manila who counts socialites and celebrities as well as office workers and home makers as her patients. In Manila there are thousands of Aesthetics doctors with competitive pricing. Facial Remodelling

Facial remodelling is enhancing your features with the use of Botox® and Juvederm® to contour and define your face shape and specific areas like nose bridge, under eyes, cheekbones, lip and chin.

Moreover, fillers are completely natural as its made from hylauronic acid, which is found naturally in our body. In fact lots of skin care brands uses it in their over the counter products but in minimal and less concentrated amount as only doctors or trained aesthetics are able to administer a higher percentage for filler injections to define and contour facial features.

Facial Remodelling on 1st model

Dr Z proposed Juvederm® injections to define her nose bridge, plump up her laugh lines, sharper chin definition and Botox® to contour her jaw line for a slimmer face shape.

Firstly, Dr Z mapped the portion of the face requiring facial definition. Next an ice pack is applied on the area to numb the skin before  injection of Botox® for the jaw line.

Dr Z worked on achieving a more defined nose bridge by injecting Juvederm®

Next he shaped her nose bridge by remodelling the injected fillers to ensure proper distribution to create a natural shape.

Dr Z then applied Juvederm® on her laugh lines to soften her facial expression.

 

Next Dr Z reshaped the laugh lines area and ensure no lumpiness of fillers to create a comfortable natural look with less defined laugh lines.

Finally, Dr Z injected a tiny amount of Juvederm® for a more prominent chin and remodelling to complete the beautifully defined face.

Facial Remodelling on 2nd Model

Dr Z proposed Juverderm® injections to define her nose bridge and nose shape and Botox® at the sides of her face to contour her jawline for a slimmer look

She looked a bit nervous at first but was giggling next as it wasn't painful as she had expected. Dr Z proceeded to Botox on her jawline after mapping and numbing the area.

Next Dr Z administered Juvederm® to her nose bridge, remodelled and reshaped her nose for a defined natural look.

 

Notice the higher, more defined nose bridge and natural nose shape and the much sharper face shape ? Looks great !

It was my second time in witnessing Botox® and fillers administration. The first was accompanying my friend to another Aesthetic Doctor. Just my personal thoughts, I felt that Dr Z is more approachable and friendly who gives honest constructive opinions. There is a personal touch in him if you know what i mean.
