FIVE STARS TOURS TRAVEL AGENCY CLOSED SINGAPORE OPERATIONS SUDDENLY

Five stars tours travel agency offering holiday flight tour packages, free and easy trips and coach express buses charter services to Malaysia have closed its People’s Park Complex main office and all Singapore seven branches, ceasing all operations today. It also have travel offices in Malaysia.

Chinese New Year 2014 peak travel season in January and February have seen tour holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruise, express coach bus bookings made at popular NATAS Fair 2013 in Singapore Expo and at Five Stars tours Singapore branches until yesterday.

Five Stars tours Singapore travel agency sudden closure left customers shocked as it was an established tour company in Singapore and Malaysia which made money through express bus air conditioned coach services to Malaysia when it first started two decades ago before expanding to Five Stars Holidays tour group packages by Ken Lim and his four brothers.

First reported on Channel 8 news and ZaoBao.Com today, it seems that Five Stars tours group was in rental arrears and financial woes for several months already. Lianhe Wanbao reported that Five Stars Tours applied for liquidation today.

Affected customers who paid tour deposits and have purchased travel insurance for your travel will usually be protected against insolvency of tour agency  in this case can proceed to file claim for financial compensation, depending on your travel insurance contract.

Other course of actions including making a Police report for Fraud (report online at Singapore Police Force Electronic Police Centre, try Small Claims Tribunals or CASE Consumers Association of Singapore http://www.case.org.sg/making_a_complaint.html but most probably most monies left will be paid to bigger creditors like other tour operators.
